Your help could further MMSA’s vision of a brighter STEM future for the State of Maine and the nation. Today, I ask you to support MMSA and become a part of the movement to support exciting new ways for our youth to learn about science, technology, engineering, and math.
More than 100 educators from across Maine took part in a one-day MMSA workshop, How Do You Know What Your Students Are Really Thinking? Teachers were introduced to numerous practical formative assessment tools and techniques for uncovering students’ thinking across the STEM disciplines.
The workshop showcased the critical importance of selecting tools and techniques for a particular purpose and of using the information revealed by a strategy to shape instruction. Teachers left the workshop energized and with a deeper understanding of how to embed a variety of content-focused formative assessment techniques in their instructional routines.
