MMSA Title: Research Associate II.
Jennifer Atkinson joined MMSA in January 2015 as its first Research Assistant. She graduated cum laude from Cornell Law School with a concentration in Public Interest Law, and holds a degree in Zoology from Connecticut College. Prior to starting her law office in 2013, Jennifer worked with and for non-profit organizations in New England as a staff attorney, a program director, and an independent consultant. Her work has included multi-year programming in public schools developing, directing, and helping to evaluate programs that train and support teachers in the use of place-based education methods and models. Jennifer is particularly interested in the intersection between STEM education and community development and greatly enjoys cultivating the development of STEM learning landscapes across formal and informal educators, students, families and community. Currently she serves as the Project Manager for the STEM Guides Project as well as the Research Associate II for MMSA. When not working for MMSA or in her law practice, Jennifer’s life revolves around her family, friends, and love of the outdoors. Jennifer is one of the founding trustees of the Juniper Hill School for Place-Based Education in Alna, Maine.
