Celebrating Partners Nationwide for Afterschool Professionals Appreciation Week

ACRES (Afterschool Coaching for Reflective Educators in STEM) works with coaches from across the country, and during this year’s Afterschool Professionals Appreciation Week, we are highlighting a few partners and the innovative ways they are adapting ACRES practices.

Over the last five years, Illinois Afterschool Network (IAN) has offered free coaching to afterschool educators who wanted to hone their STEM facilitation skills, and worked with ACRES to train afterschool leaders as coaches. This year, IAN will provide coaching in Spanish!

North Carolina Center for Afterschool Programs (NCCAP) has, in the last five years, consistently embedded ACRES resources into their monthly newsletter as well as their annual conference, where they always host a presentation hosted by an ACRES Coach.

The Missouri Afterschool Network (MASN)  has an amazing program that includes a mobile lab offering hands-on activities featuring science, technology, engineering, and mathematics that travels to afterschool programs across the state of Missouri.

At this year’s National Afterschool Association (NAA)’s convention, ACRES had the pleasure of passing the baton to the Alaska Afterschool Network (AKA)  to take on getting the word out about micro-credentials for afterschool educators.

For the last five years, AKA has been the leader in earning STEM micro-credentials, and have embedded ACRES into their entire Americorps program, particularly in onboarding new volunteers!

A partner of the last five years, New York State Network for Youth Success embedded ACRES into their state credentialing system, administering the New York State School Age Care (SAC) Credential, which promotes quality services to children and families by providing specific standards, training, and evaluation for afterschool professionals.

Join us in celebrating the many incredible afterschool professionals whose work is invaluable in bringing enriching experiences to youth and their communities nationwide.
