Your help could further MMSA’s vision of a brighter STEM future for the State of Maine and the nation. Today, I ask you to support MMSA and become a part of the movement to support exciting new ways for our youth to learn about science, technology, engineering, and math.
As of this Spring, Maine officially adopted the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) as our learning results in science. What are the key shifts for teachers, students, and instructional leaders? What does that mean for your district curriculum and strategic plans as you transition to the new standards? How can districts leverage federal funds for professional learning to support these shifts? In this workshop, educational leaders will be introduced to the key innovations of the NGSS and will engage with examples of what these shifts look like in classrooms. Participants will leave with a toolkit of resources to support strategic planning in order to make this change initiative a success for districts, schools, teachers, and students.
