Creating a Community of Mathematicians in the 3-5 Classroom


WHO WILL BENEFIT:
  • Grades 3-5 Educators
WHAT YOU WILL LEARN:

 

  • Learn about structures and routines that support the development of reflective, collaborative, and imaginative learner dispositions.
  • Collaborate with other “like role” educators within the 3-5 grade span.
  • Develop an Implementation Action Plan, focusing on the first 3 weeks of school.

Focus of Structures and Routines: math mindsets, problem solving and reasoning, student self-assessment and reflection, small and whole group discourse, and connecting representations.”

DETAILS: This virtual series is designed to support participants in developing a plan for creating an environment (for both face to face and online learning environments) that ignites students’ curiosity and excitement about mathematics. Content and structures will be specific to the 3-5 grade span.

Estimated Cost:

  • On site workshop: $1650/day plus travel
  • Virtual options (synchronous/asynchronous):
    $200 per contact hour
