Maine Mathematics & Science Alliance
How do we promote depth of knowledge through assessment and provide opportunities for students to demonstrate evidence of their learning? Participants will explore what is meant by performance assessments in science, be introduced to examples, consider the key components that make up a task and devise a plan for trying one out in their own classroom. In between sessions, participants will administer an assessment and collect student work which will be shared at the second session. Workshop is for K-12 educators, curriculum coordinators and coaches.
