Is your school district trying to understand how to better use data to determine areas of strength and weaknesses, and to create next steps to increase student understanding? Data analysis can be an overwhelming process that often gets entangled with heightened emotions of teachers who have worked so hard, yet feel like the results are never enough. It is sometimes difficult to even know where to go next once you see the results. Using a data analysis protocol that was adapted by MMSA, this workshop is designed to keep the data analysis process on track, aiming to find an area of focus and to develop a plan for how to make changes as you move ahead. This workshop will be personalized to meet your district’s specific needs. You bring the data, and we will help you to use it to drive your instruction for students and to determine professional development needs for teachers. Your team will be led through a protocol where previous assumptions and expectations will be shared prior to examining the data. Then all stakeholders have time to examine the data, leading into the next step where participants will make and share observations about the data. After observations are shared, implications will be uncovered, leading to the conclusion where next steps are determined and an action plan is started. You will still have more work to do when you leave this workshop, but this session will get you focused and ready to move forward as a team based on what you uncovered through the data examination process.
