Stefany joined MMSA in October 2014. She has a B.S. in Landscape Horticulture from the University of Maine and a graduate certificate in Instructional Design & Technology from Walden University. Stefany spent seven years as an environmental educator and director of operations at Maine Energy Education Program. She also completed three terms in AmeriCorps with Maine Campus Compact, Maine Department of Environmental Protection and Friends of the Cobbossee Watershed. Stefany’s passion lies in helping people become scientifically literate in this age of virtually boundless information. Her role at the Reach Center of MMSA is in coordinating the Maine State Science Fair, convening STEM educators and promoting the STEM Resource Bank. She is also on MMSA’s Communication Team. Stefany lives in Brunswick with her husband, John, and their dog, Comet. She is a Big Brothers, Big Sisters mentor, volunteers at the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Gardiner and serves in several ministry roles – including the praise band – at her local parish.
