Scott Byrd is our most recent addition to the MMSA Team. As a researcher, he will coordinate the educational research and evaluation of MMSA programs and support staff at every step of the research process from proposal to data archiving. Before joining MMSA Scott was an Assistant Professor of Sociology at Murray State University in Kentucky. He has also worked in the public sector and as an individual statistical consultant. His research over the last fifteen years has focused on environmental policy, especially climate change, community and movement organizing, and organizational change and adaptation.
In his spare time, he and his wife renovate a 1700s mill house on the Medomak River in Waldoboro. Scott is also active in his local community of Waldoboro. He has served on the town’s conservation commission, on the board of the Medomak Arts Project and advised the Medomak Valley Land Trust on their new River Park in Waldoboro Village.
