Applications for’s Professional Learning Program for CS Principles and CS Discoveries *Deadline Extended*

Educate Maine and the Maine Mathematics and Science Alliance are excited to announce that applications for’s Professional Learning Program for CS Principles and CS Discoveries are now open. If you have an interest in teaching either of these courses in 2018-19, please apply today!’s Professional Learning Program is an intensive, year-long professional learning program for middle and high school educators who are interested in teaching’s CS Discoveries (middle school) or CS Principles (high school) courses. These programs are designed to prepare educators to provide high quality instruction based on the curriculum, tools and approach to students in their classrooms.

Teachers who apply and are accepted to the program commit to:

  • Attending the five-day, in-person local summer workshop (in Maine on August 5-August 10, 2018)
  • Attending four local one-day, in-person workshops (normally on Saturdays)
  • Teaching the course during the 2018-19 school year
  • Supporting the recruitment and enrollment of a diverse group of students in the course, representative of the school’s overall student population

Applications open on January 16 and close on March 30 May 31st,  and will be reviewed on a rolling basis. For more information and to apply, visit the Professional Learning page for CS Discoveries or CS Principles.
