We have a new summer format for this blog series – periodic activities to get your family to pay closer attention to the STEM around them. Check back weekly or follow us on Facebook to get updates!
Do you ever stop to think about how much math and numbers you use in an average day? Checking your gas gauge before going for a drive, checking the outdoor thermometer before dressing for the day, and measuring ingredients for a recipe are just a few examples of our use of numbers and math. If you can get better at spotting numbers and math all around you, you’ll find more opportunities to expose your children to them as well. Having your children measure ingredients or figure out how much your Friday night takeout order will cost will them become more comfortable with numbers.
