Playing with Numbers: Multiplication and Division
Upper elementary and middle school educators: Here’s your opportunity to learn how to play with numbers!
This workshop series underscores that math is about more than just “getting the answer,” but it’s about the thinking and reasoning that gets you to that point. Learn tools to help you and your students become confident problem solvers. Discover the possibilities of emphasizing the relationships between numbers and find the fun in learning flexible ways of completing calculations.
We’ll share strategies and resources that will give you an understanding of and build on your students’ prior math knowledge in a supportive space that allows you to play with these concepts, practice applying them with colleagues, and confidently implement them in your classroom.
We will focus on multiplication and division with multi-digit whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
