Join other high school teachers interested in learning about MSSF on June 24th for the first professional development session! The theme will be ‘Inspiring Authentic Science & Engineering Fair Projects’ where participants will learn more about the structure of MSSF and how to help students choose a topic and explore the different methodologies for MSSF projects.

The second session of professional development will be held July 8th, focused on ‘Developing Achievable Science & Engineering Fair Projects’. Come learn how to conduct background research and literature reviews and hear directly from a MSSF student on how to develop a research plan. These fundamental skills are the backbone to a solid science and engineering project.

The final session of professional development will be on ‘Fostering Effective Science Communication’. Learn how to coach students in writing abstracts, designing posters and quad charts, and presenting work via video. Hear from a MSSF student on how to present and interact with judges at MSSF.

These sessions are brought to you by the Reach project at MMSA and The Jackson Laboratory. Learn more about MSSF at maine-state-science-fair.org.
