How it Works:
Get others to sign up for the retreat and ask them to write your name in the “Educator Referral Name” field on their registration form(opens in a new tab). You and the person who submitted your name will both be entered into the giveaway. Every person you recruit = one giveaway entry for you!
The Prize:
One winner will be chosen at the retreat and will receive an overnight stay with breakfast for two at The Westin Portland Harborview(opens in a new tab) to be used for a future stay, plus a $100 gift card to their iconic Top of the East(opens in a new tab) lounge, along with a $250 gift card to their Adeline Wellness Spa(opens in a new tab)!
Rules & Regulations for Participation:
This giveaway is conducted by the Maine Mathematics and Science Alliance (MMSA), a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and all proceeds benefit MMSA’s charitable and educational mission.
ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY
NO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT REQUIRED TO ENTER OR WIN IN ADDITION TO YOUR REGISTRATION.
- You must be an individual legal resident of the 50 United States or the District of Columbia and be at least 18 years of age to participate.
- To enter either 1) Recruit another person to sign up for the 2026 MMSA STEM PD Retreat and have them add your name to the “Educator Referral Name” field on their registration; or 2) Add the name of the person who told you about the 2026 MMSA STEM PD Retreat in the “Educator Referral Name” field on your registration form.
- Each eligible referrer will receive one entry per verified referral registration. Duplicate or fraudulent entries will be void. MMSA reserves the right to verify eligibility and disqualify any entries that do not comply with these rules
- The drawing will take place in person on March 13, 2026, during the MMSA STEM PD Retreat at The Westin Portland Harborview. The winner must be present at the time of the drawing to claim the prize. If the selected winner is not present, MMSA may draw an alternate winner.
- The prize consists of (1) Overnight stay with breakfast for two at The Westin Portland Harborview to be used at a future time (1) $100 gift card to Top of the East lounge and restaurant (1) $250 gift card to the Adeline Wellness Spa in the hotel.
- No cash or other prize substitutions are permitted, except at MMSA’s discretion. MMSA reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value if the stated prize becomes unavailable.
- The approximate retail value (ARV) of the total prize package is $550.
- Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries per participant.
- The winner is responsible for any and all federal, state, and local taxes associated with the prize. If required by law, MMSA will issue an IRS Form 1099-MISC to the winner.
- Event organizers, sponsors, and their immediate family members are not eligible to participate. This includes MMSA staff, and all other sponsors to the event. Educator co-facilitators are eligible to participate.
RELEASE OF LIABILITY AND WAIVER OF RIGHTS
By entering the promotion, you agree that MMSA will have no liability, and will be held harmless from and against any liability or loss, including reasonable attorney’s fees and costs, for all matters related to your acceptance, possession, experience with, use or misuse of the prize or participation in the promotion.
By entering the promotion, participants grant an irrevocable, perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive license to MMSA and its affiliates to use, reproduce, modify, distribute, display, publish and create derivative works of any content that they provide, make available, or upload to a social media platform in connection with this promotion.
All information submitted in connection with the promotion will be used and treated in accordance with MMSA’s Privacy Policy.
If you do not agree to these terms and conditions, do not enter the promotion.
This raffle and these Official Rules are governed by and shall be construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Maine. Any disputes arising from this raffle shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Maine.
MMSA reserves the right to cancel, suspend, or modify the raffle if any fraud, technical failures, or other factors impair the integrity of the promotion or if required by law. MMSA’s decisions are final and binding in all matters related to this promotion.
