MMSA’s Reach Center project encourages everyone to learn to code! There are several opportunities throughout the year to participate in events. The national Hour of Code initiative takes place during Computer Science Education Week in December each year. Scratch Day is held in May each year.
There are many opportunities online, in Maine, and elsewhere to continue your coding adventure. Here are just a few. Download a PDF created by two of MMSA’s Youth Advisers that shares some great opportunities here.
Online
Join the Scratch community and explore. Take a coding course at Khan Academy, Code Academy, Coursera, or Udacity. Drop us a note if you have a queston about where to learn the types of coding you’re interested in.
In Maine
The Maine STEM Resource Bank makes it easy to search for local opportunities, summer camps in Maine, and coding groups that meet regularly.
Elsewhere
Explore The Connectory for nationwide opportunities including summer camps and coding schools.
Keep coding!
MMSA’s Reach Center project encourages Maine youth to explore their interests in science, technology, engineering, and math outside of school. Hour of Code and Scratch Day are two great opportunities to get involved in coding.
