- Civil Air Patrol often involved in fly-overs to detect damage that has been done by major storms, floods, wildfires, etc. Sometimes they use drones to do this work. Check with the region commander for potential speakers.

- Local animal resources. Contact a local aquarium, zoo, animal shelter, or vet to learn how they deal with animal safety during hurricanes.
