This four-day professional learning experience offers a comprehensive introduction to the OpenSciEd curriculum for grades 6-12. Whether you're preparing to launch your first unit or looking to deepen your practice mid-implementation, these sessions are designed to build the confidence and fluency you need to make the most of OpenSciEd.
During each collaborative session, you'll immerse yourself in the lessons, routines, and strategies of the curriculum - not just as a teacher, but as a learner. You'll leave with a strong understanding of how to facilitate OpenSciEd units in your classroom, along with the tools to maximize student engagement and success.
Participants will have opportunities to:
- Engage in actual OpenSciEd lessons from the student perspective
- Deepen their understanding of three-dimensional instruction and assessment
- Examine how units are sequenced to build student thinking over time
- Connect with fellow educators and reflect on instructional shifts and strategies
- Explore the full range of resources embedded in the curriculum
