Inspiring Innovation with MSSF

The Maine State Science Fair (MSSF) is a venue for students to explore the real world around them, to examine real world problems with the support of scientists and educators, and to potentially secure financial aid for their futures.

Spotlight on the Challenger Learning Center of Maine! 🧑‍🚀

Who knew space flight missions were happening on the ground, right here in Maine?! EDC.org and MMSA joined STEM Workforce Ready’s educators on a class trip for a day of outta-this-world STEM activities.


The incredible staff at the Challenger Learning Center in Bangor, Maine, lead virtual space missions for students, in this case, as part of MMSA’s Workforce Ready 2030 initiative.

Takeoff in the #spacecraft(opens in a new tab) and learn how #astronauts(opens in a new tab) live in zero gravity, or stick around in mission control for more hands-on, “minds-on” experiences!

Making Space for… #space 🚀🚀🚀

Science teacher Kathy Bock from Cape Elizabeth Schools shares a hands-on activity using stomp rockets to connect the concept of space into existing curriculum. She shared the activity with educators at the 2024 CS Summer of Fun, with help from Educate Maine and Maine Space Corporation.
