Students Learn About Citizen Science

On October 19-20, twenty-six middle school students participating in MMSA’s Reach Center project’s “Do Science With the World” program gathered at the Schoodic Education and Research Center Institute in Winter Harbor.

From activities that served as reminders of what science, technology, engineering and math are and how they’re interconnected so we often refer to them as “STEM” to a hands-on training course introducing the Maine Audubon Wildlife Road Watch citizen science project, students enjoyed a jam-packed weekend of fun learning. Although the night hike had to be canceled because of rain, a lot of ground was covered in just 24 hours.
