Select from the pathways below as part of your school or district’s customized Science Support Package. Each pathway includes engaging, evidence-based sessions led by MMSA consultants, designed to deepen student inquiry and engagement.
Science Instructional Support (K-12)
Empower students to make sense of science through relevant, engaging, and authentic learning experiences. We’ll explore instructional routines that integrate seamlessly into your existing science curriculum, along with high-quality resources and practical strategies you can use right away.
Sessions are customized to your school’s goals, curriculum, and students’ needs. Areas of focus may include:

- Anchoring phenomena and engineering problems to spark student curiosity, inquiry, and investigations.

- Science and engineering practices to deepen engagement, agency, and problem-solving skills.

- Facilitation strategies and talk moves to support students in sharing ideas, asking questions, and building understanding through discussion.
You’ll gain practical tools and strategies to lead inquiry-based, phenomena-driven instruction with confidence.
OpenSciEd Curriculum Launch & Ongoing Support (K-12)
Immerse yourself in the lessons, routines, and strategies of the OpenSciEd curriculum. OpenSciEd(opens in a new tab) is a high-quality, freely available science curriculum that emphasizes student-led questioning, investigating, and problem-solving. Each unit has been field tested by hundreds of teachers and students and earned the NGSS Design Badge(opens in a new tab).
Whether you’re piloting a new unit or fine-tuning your facilitation, we’ll equip you with skills and strategies for successful implementation. Our goal is to help you gain confidence in navigating all of OpenSciEd’s embedded resources so you can maximize your impact on student engagement and learning, walk away with a thorough understanding of how to facilitate OpenSciEd units in your classroom.
As a certified OpenSciEd Professional Learning Provider, we offer a comprehensive Curriculum Launch to get you started, as well as ongoing support with Unit Deep Dives, sessions on equitable discussions, student sensemaking, assessments, and more.
Additional Coaching Support
To complement these professional development pathways, we offer supplemental coaching for individuals and small teams of 2-3 teachers. Coaching can take place in-person or virtually, and flexibly scheduled to include self-reflection, observation, and focused feedback. We work closely with educators and districts to identify, gather, and analyze student and teacher outcome data to document learning and growth.
Contact Hour Requirements
Our professional development trainings include a minimum of 18 participant contact hours, which can be scheduled through full-day (6-hour) and half-day (3-hour) sessions.
Educators can also register as individuals for MMSA events and workshops to earn contact hours.
